Ok so after like a way too long break from blogging, we're back. At least for now. This is the first time in a while that I've even had the motivation to blog. I don't know why, I guess after the initial excitement of getting started I just realized how much time it really takes to keep this thing updated. Especially when everyone one I know is like this "blogging pro" and has all the cutest little thingies all over their pages! Well this is it folks! If you are looking for music and all kinds of fun things to see you are stalking the wrong page!
Anywho, seeing as how summer break is now over, I thought I would just do our summer by pictures instead of a bunch of separate posts.
FIRST EXCITING TRIP: FLORIDA
This may look like a calm, cool corona commercial but don't be fooled! We, as in my sister and her husband and me and my hubby and my brother, went out to Florida to visit my mom for a week in May. We found this quiet secluded public area that was surrounded by private beach and decided to stop for a while and enjoy the view. And what happened about an hour into the relaxing was pretty traumatic to say the least! We were just all snoozing when we heard some guy yelling for help that was coming in from the water, he said his friends were drowning and he needed help! So my mom starting calling 911 and someone at the hotel next door that they were staying at went up and got a life preserver, Jordan and I were in the bushes behind us at the time because I needed to go tinkle and didn't want to get in the water! When we started walking back, we see my brother swimming out to rescue someone in the water, just then my brother-in-law sees another guy face down so he, Jordan and I start swimming out to the other guy! Well, to make a long story short, we weren't heroes that day, both of the men drowned and didn't make it once we got them to shore, but they had gotten stuck in a riptide and I guess panicked! If anyone has ever seen a dead drowning victim, then you can empathize with me when I say, I'll never forget the sight. When I went to pull the guy over in the water, his eyes were wide open and he was foaming at the mouth. Not a pretty sight. Anyway, it really kinda put a damper on our trip. And I still can't and probably never will, be able to get the images out of my head. After Florida, we got home and I decided for a myriad of reasons to quit my job, which I fully regret now! And I am still to this day looking for something permanent!
TRIP TWO: RAGGED MOUNTAIN, COLORADO
Jordan's family had a family reunion in June, that we attended for a week. I would like to say that it was unbelievable and I had a blast, but unfortunately I had a miscarriage while were there so needless to say, I wasn't in a hurry to stay. I was only 8 weeks along and luckily we hadn't told many people(that's probably why this is the first you are hearing of it) but now we at least know we are ready....maybe. But, I think we were able to salvage a few good memories and Jordan just is totally in his element when he's around his extended family so I think he enjoyed himself
Since that trip we have been extremely low key, seeing as how I was out of job and still kinda am. We have never experienced true poor until now, but we definitely have been so blessed. The numbers don't add up every month and we know the Lord truly has picked up the tab. My testimony of tithing and faith and has never been so tested and strengthened at the same time. This summer has been such a time for growth for us I think. I don't regret one thing that happened, well maybe quitting my job still! But everything else has been such a learning experience for us.
So now that school is back in session, I become a widow again, and have to find ways to fill my free time while Jordan is hard at work. I really am so proud of him. And since he is not responsible for this blog nor does he know how to work it, I'll take the liberty of bragging about him since he would never do it himself. Jordan wants to be a dentist and has spent the last 3 years working hard for it. He has maintained straight A's in the hardest of classes, and still finds time to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He still has a year to go before he takes the DAT but I know he'll do it. If anyone can it's him!
Well, here are a few more pictures of our summer, mostly from our Florida trip(the fun parts) and hopefully with all my spare time there will be more to come!

Oh I feel your pain sister. Only we've had an attack of the GINORMOUS crickets lately. What is the deal with the bugs out here?? Is it something in the water? I found 6 dead ones in Addison's room yesterday. Ew.
Yeah a new post! I was waiting for the day when I wouldn't have to see your toes.
Speaking of crickets and cockroaches my classroom had an infestation. There were about 16 crickets (the big fat kinds) by the front door behind some mini bookcases.
After taking care of them I was pretty paranoid and could hear them "everywhere" particularly in the classroom library that has 4 mini bookcases.
So the custodian lady said if I moved the bookcases she would vacuum them up. First bookcase moved...nothing! Second bookcase moved and her vacuum starts up I look back on my way to the other side of the classroom and there were -no joke- 12 cockroaches and 8 crickets. You may be asking what is Beth doing while the custodian lady is doing all the work. Yes you've guessed it. Standing on a chair screaming at the top of her lungs.
I love my custodian! Have a great day!

Hi Ali,
We really liked our house(as far as campus houses go!) We didn't have bad bugs, but I had housing come and spray every 6 weeks. We had crickets sometimes, but as long as I didn't have roaches I didn't care! The appliances all worked fine. My only complaint was the floors. They were pretty bad, I spent about $500 in carpet and rugs to try to cover them up. I'm sure they are just like all the other houses floors though. We painted the living room and dining room a taupe color that I really loved. It made it feel more like a home. Anyway, hope that helps! My boys keep asking when we are moving back to our "yellow" house! Jacob(our oldest) claims that he really liked that house better than the one we have now! Crazy kid!

Hey Ali,
So that is one crazy and horrible story you shared. I hope I never go through that. It's nice that you have a blog, I never get to talk to you much at church so this helps. I'm bummed you'll possibly be moving soon...:(
