Graduation day

Wow, so much has happened since my last blog that I really can't fit it all in and show all the pictures of all the events it would take forever! We have just been so busy trying to get ready to move and now trying to get settled that I don't even think about blogging! But now that we are in Kentucky I'm going to try and be better so that all our friends and family back in AZ can see what we are up to. Before we left for Louisville we had a couple milestones. The first one was that my baby girl turned 1! Sadly I never even mentioned it on the blog! Now she is almost 15 months! But this girl is so crazy, I just love her to pieces, and she just has the funnest personality. She is such a ham like her dad and if you start laughing at her it's all the fuel she needs. She is so mature for her age too. All the other little girls here age don't seem nearly as grown up as she does. I think I'm in big trouble with her though, I don't know how she does it but she can sass with a vocabulary of like 5 words, or even just a look! We finally got to the point with her now that we don't rock her to sleep thanks goodness. It only took 13months! I feel so liberated being able to just give her a kiss and put her in her crib, now I know how all you other mothers feel! No wonder you all look cute all the time and have a smile on your face! You weren't spending half your day putting your child to bed! I really think the hardest part if over now with her, we still get into it some days when she is especially stubborn or is getting a tooth and nothing is making her happy, but just give her some fruit snacks and Baby Einstein and she is happy as a clam. Jovie absolutely loves the water which has been so fun, it's actually kinda scary too though because she will literally walk off the pool deck into the water! She actually laughs at the thrill of the feeling of drowning, so we need to get her into swim lessons stat! She's a little monkey, she love climbing on the things and I love watching her try and figure things out. She's just so determined sometimes, and I hope she continues that as she gets older. She says a lot of words now too. Her favorite word is bubbles, but she says, yeah, no, mom, dad, shay shay, ky ky, nanna, up, down, done, doggy. She'll pretty much try and repeat anything we try and tell her to say. One of the cutest things she does is, whenever we are out and about some where she just walks around saying hi to everyone she just brightens every ones day. We joke about taking her to hospitals to walk around to all the patients rooms like the dogs do. It would be so cute. I just can't believe how much she has grown up, but this age is just so much fun and I want to soak up as much of it as I can.
Jordan also graduated from ASU before we left and that was a good day, even though we knew we had another 4 years ahead of us it just felt nice to moving on. After Jordan graduated we starting packing for Kentucky. We moved out her June 1st and we were here for a week before we went to Florida for 3 weeks. And that was great. We spent the first week and half hanging out at my moms just chillin. And then we spent a week down in Ft. Meyers beach and Jovie just loved it! She never wanted to come out of the water. Which is good because if any of you have ever been to the beach in Florida in the summer that is the only way to stay cool. So after the beach we went back to my moms for another week and waited around until the Eclipse premiere. Now in AZ people line up the day of the premiere like first thing in the morning right? So Shayla and I were all paranoid about getting there early enough so we bought tickets ahead of time and then went down to the theatre about 6pm and brought a cooler, chairs, games, books totally prepared to kill six hours and we get there and there is not a single other person besides us waiting in line! We were so embarrassed! So Eclipse definitely not as crazy in Florida as it is in Mesa. Now we know. Anyway, we have been back in Kentucky since July 1st and Jordan started his first day of Dental School! He is so stoked and I must say he looks extremely handsome in his scrubs! These first two weeks are all anatomy and they work on a cadaver for 4 hours everyday, I could never do that, that's for sure. So Jordan leaves the house at about 7:15am and comes home around 6pm and he plays with Jovie Bear and we put her down at 8pm and then he studies till about midnight. What a life right? But he loves it already. We both miss our families like crazy but we are adapting pretty well here. I just try and stay busy during the day and go to new places and make it till 6 when Jordan gets home. I have to mention (although Jordan doesn't want me to) that Jovie had a her first major accident two days before we left Florida, she was being was being extremely fussing all morning and I had left him home and went out with my mom and sister and so he took her outside and decided to light some sparklers to entertain her and well I'm sure you can guess what happened next.....she grabbed the end of it and gave herself a pretty good second degree burn. When we got to Kentucky I decided to take her the ER and she was referred to a surgeon because they thought she may need skin graffs but no worries we cleared that trauma. I have to say that I owe it all to my Heavenly Father, I really think he was looking out for our little girl and has created just a magical little healing mechanism in Jovies body. She is healing up quite nicely I think. Poor Jordan though, the guilt was enough to make him turn white. And it wasn't a week later that he burned his hand pretty good pulling dinner out of the oven and I couldn't help but laugh when his fingers started to blister up. Karma maybe? Anyway, that's what we have been up to lately. I promise to do better and update more often!

Gosh I'm sooooo glad you posted! If I told you how many times a day I think of how you guys are doing you might think I was creepy. I'm glad that you guys made it ok and I can't stand how big Jovie is!!! Stop it right now Jovie! I remember when you guys came over and she was rolling around for the first time. Anyway, she's as cute as ever!! Congrats on getting her to sleep with no rocking. Can you come train me? Because I still can't do it at naptime. I guess I just have to be diligent like you guys through the good and bad....I'm being lazy and taking the easy way out for myself which will only come back to bite me I know. Oh! And you better stop it with the "now I know how all you other moms looked so cute all the time" because you ALWAYS look cute! Anyway- glad you are surviving - it sounds like you guys are doing great! Love ya!
